Two Iconic Brands Unite: Mallory Ignition Partners with Roush Yates

World-class performance companies Mallory Ignition and Roush Yates have come together to create a unique and formidable partnership that fosters better, stronger and faster performance solutions.

World-class performance companies Mallory Ignition and Roush Yates have come together to create a unique and formidable partnership that fosters better, stronger and faster performance solutions.

Mallory Ignition, a Prestolite Performance brand, and North Carolina-based Roush Yates will collaborate to offer new products and contingency programs.

“With this partnership, Mallory Ignition can extend its reach into NASCAR, drag, truck and circle track racing,” said Prestolite Performance President Steve Campbell. “We are excited to see two celebrated brands work together to create new, innovative products and grow our respective businesses.”

Products developed through this strategic partnership will give customers the best of both worlds – Mallory Ignition’s decades-long experience in ignition product development combined with Roush Yates’ world-renowned reputation for racing engineering and technical accuracy.

Roush Yates and Prestolite Performance will harness this collaborative energy to launch the Roush Yates and Mallory Racing Ignition system with coil, which will be available at select retail locations and online at malloryracing.com and roushyates.com.

“Earlier this year, Prestolite Performance approached Roush Yates with an opportunity to partner,” said Doug Yates, CEO and co-owner of Roush Yates. “The decision to collaborate came at the perfect time as we were also looking to expand and team up with a strong brand that had a quality reputation and innovative product offerings.”

Prestolite Performance’s Mallory Ignition brand has been involved in the development and sponsorship of the auto racing industry for more than 85 years. With the first Mallory Ignition system winning the Pikes Peak Hill Climb in 1926, the brand brings years of experience in supporting the racing community through product development, contingency programs and trackside technical support for racers.

Roush Yates’ background comes from the joining of engine departments from Robert Yates Racing and Roush Racing – longtime business and racing competitors – in 2004. Combining top engineers and technicians from each company to form the “perfect storm” proved to be an instant success. To date, Roush Yates has won 57 Sprint Cup Series and 53 Nationwide Series races as a provider to notable NASCAR racing organizations, including Roush Fenway Racing.

The partnership also includes more than $75,000 in new contingency awards. Roush Yates will be in the field at races and other events this year, showcasing their co-developed products.

“Strategic alliances work when top brands come together and are better recognized when products hit the marketplace,” said Yates. “We see a groundswell of demand of Roush Yates-branded products from this partnership. Also, being able to work with Prestolite Performance in co-developing certain products that legitimately enhance our engine offerings will certainly make our customers better on the track or in the performance space.”
