Suarez Wins NASCAR East Race At Columbus

Daniel Suarez led the final 89 laps on his way to winning the NAPA 150 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East stock car race at Columbus Motor Speedway.

Daniel Suarez led the final 89 laps on his way to winning the NAPA 150 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East stock car race at Columbus Motor Speedway.

That makes it sound easier than it was.

Suarez and the other Pro Series East drivers all race on Goodyear tires. The bias-ply tires Goodyear manufactures for the series come from the same line as those built for the K&N Pro Series West and NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. The tires are made at Goodyear’s Innovation Center in Akron, Ohio.

Dylan Kwasniewsky started on the pole and led the first 44 laps at Columbus. Suarez started seventh and had to fend his way through the crowd at the front before getting the top spot in time to lead the 65th circuit. Suarez led the rest of the way, but it was close. His victory margin was only .378 of a second.
Cale Conley took second and Kwasniewsky was third. Ryan Gifford and Brandon Gdovic rounded out the top five finishers.

Suarez averaged 63.205 mph for the race, which was extended to 152 laps by a green-white-checker finish. The pole-winning time was 82.782 seconds.

Kwasniewsky leads the K&N Pro Series East standings with 323 points. Brett Moffitt is next with 300.
Goodyear employs about 69,000 people at manufacturing plants and facilities in 22 nations.
