SKF has expanded its air system product offering to include the Separator Filter Dryer (SFD), an air dryer ideal for providing contaminant free air to pneumatic devices. Typical applications include point-of-use such as spray booths, works stations and air lines in service bays that use pneumatic tools. The SFD can also be mounted on small air compressors.

Designed to keep compressed air free of oil, contaminants and moisture, the SFD incorporates a three-in-one system that typically requires less than 10 percent of air for regeneration and achieves a -40° F pressure dewpoint for flow rates of up to 40 CFM.

According to SKF, the system is compact and easy to install, and also features accessible valves and two spin-on desiccant cartridges for easy maintenance. It uses less electrical than other air drying methods and extends service life of pneumatic devices and tools, the company adds.

“The Separator Filter Dryer is not just another air dryer. It is a low-cost, low-maintenance solution suitable for any shop that uses pneumatic tools,” said Doug Fike, product manager, heavy duty, SKF. “The product is currently used in other SKF markets as well as in SKF manufacturing facilities.”

Corresponding product literature is now available for download at www.vsm.skf.com. The Separator Filter Dryer Flyer (457880) includes an overview of the SFD features and benefits, parts list, service schematic, air connection schematic and unit dimensions.
