Ford VCM II with IDS Ford-VCM-II

A very powerful diagnostic tool for Ford/Lincoln/Mercury. This scan tool has a better return on investment for my shop than any other tool. Can’t imagine working on Fords without it!

Snap-on VANTAGE UltraSO-Vantage

Used constantly to diagnose faulty components and circuits and to verify repairs. Before any electrical components are repaired or replaced, the scope comes out. I like the newer platform mainly due to the larger touch screen even though some features have been left out when compared to the VANTAGE Pro. The screen alone makes up for the lack of internal ammeter.

SK Flex Reversible Spline Drive Ratcheting Wrenches (also EZ Red and Mountain brands) SK-89750

The most versatile wrench set in the shop.

GM Tech 2GM-Tech-2-just-use-front

Can diagnose and program GM and some Isuzu, Suzuki and Saab vehicles with appropriate software/memory cards. An older tool, but the coverage for GMs can’t be beat. We have started seeing some Global platform vehicles and have used Tech2win with our MDI, but for the vehicles and years it covers, it is my “go to” for scanning. It remains a good investment for shops that service GMs.

Witech with Micropod IIMicropod-2-300x277

Chrysler crucial tool. A recent addition to our OE tooling, Witech has been much more useful than I anticipated. The DRB III Emulator is about on par with GM’s Tech2win. I am glad to finally not have to rely solely on aftermarket tooling when dealing with diagnosing and reprogramming Chryslers.
