AutoEnginuity, LLC, a global engineering company specializing in vehicle diagnostic solutions, recently announced the worldwide release of ScanTool 10.0 for the Windows platform. ScanTool is a vehicle diagnostics system for the professional vehicle service industry.
The version 10.0 introduces enhanced 2011MY coverage for all supported makes. Other important features include:
New Vehicle Selection model. To help our technicians connect faster, the Vehicle Selection window is shown immediately after finding the hardware interface. Generic OBDII support will now only be loaded if the selected system is a powertrain-type. This will speed up connections times to as fast as the factory tools; and, sometimes much faster.
Improved User-Interface. We improved the UI by adding new buttons for Connect, Disconnect, and
Change Systems. Also, to help technicians determine the health of the connection, a vehicle battery indicator was added to the software’s status bar. Communication Configuration was also improved by simplifying the layout and adding the J2534 hardware option. These features will allow technicians to come “up to speed” quicker with the software and veterans will find the new buttons are a welcome improvement for touch screen-based computing devices.
J2534 hardware support. Now our customers can use J2534 hardware with our ScanTool software.
New actuation model. We improved the actuation model so as to allow GM and Chrysler vehicle communications to be carefully controlled to prevent “throttling” issues and allow for faster and more reliable actuations.
New security model. To help to reduce issues where technicians leave hardware interfaces in vehicles and thereby lose the security for the ScanTool software, we moved our security to separate dongle. This will also allow customers using other hardware suppliers interfaces (i.e., J2534) to use the ScanTool software.
In-depth hybrid support. We now offer industry leading support for Chevy Volt, Ford
Fusion/Milan/Zephyr HEV, Kia Optima HEV, Hyundai Sonata HEV, Mazda Tribute HEV, and Toyota
Prius/Lexus HS250 10MY+.
Mercedes and Honda trouble code retrieval from “All” systems. With this time-saving feature
technicians can retrieve trouble codes from all systems now with a single click.
Improved European-model specific support. We now offer more in-depth Ford of Europe model
coverage. Also, we added Toyota of Europe models and Hyundai/Kia euro-specific models and diesel
engines.
Actuation support for late-model Jaguar, Land Rover, and Ford of Europe models.
Audi/VW trouble code library now supporting more than 15,000 UDS trouble code descriptions.
