The product is part of the Bar’s Leaks Professional DiFM line designed specifically for professional technicians.

Bar’s Leaks Professional A/C Stop Leak & Sealer uses a special non-clogging formula that contains no particles, solids or polymers that can plug up the orifice tube and other parts of the air conditioning system. It also won’t clog refrigerant recovering equipment. It works based upon the Venturi effect. When there is a small leak in the system, the refrigerant and some of the stop leak material escape through the leak at an accelerated speed. As the liquids escape, the pressure below that point drops, enabling the stop leak to coagulate and form a non-hardening flexible seal at the leak site. This happens because the vapor density of the stop leak is more than twice that of the refrigerant. It is also aided by contact with oxygen at the leak. Because the seal stays flexible, it can expand and contract with temperature changes.
Special synthetic oil seal conditioners in the product keep O-rings and gaskets flexible and prevent them from drying, hardening and shrinking, which is one of the most common causes of refrigerant leaks.
The UV dye in Bar’s Leaks Professional A/C Stop Leak & Sealer can help technicians identify leaks not found by a visual inspection, as well as shaft seal leaks. The dye glows when illuminated with an ultraviolet light (black light).
Bar’s Leaks Professional A/C Stop Leak & Sealer is compatible with all types of automotive Freon, including R-12 (Dichlorodifluoromethane), R134a (1, 1, 1, 2 Tetrafluoroethane) and other alternative refrigerants. It should not be used in hybrid vehicles with electric A/C compressors running ND11 oil.
A single two-ounce bottle of Bar’s Leaks Professional A/C Stop Leak & Sealer will treat an average air conditioning system that holds up to five pounds of Freon. It is sold in case packs of six. Like all Bar’s Leaks products, Professional A/C Stop Leak & Sealer is made in the USA.
