Makita has released its 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Brushless 1/2″ Hammer Driver-Drill, model XPH07M. The new Hammer Driver-Drill a full 1,090 in.-lbs. of torque, and is powered by the Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion 4.0Ah battery for longer run time and a fast charge time.
The XPH07M is powered by Makita’s efficient BL brushless motor, which is electronically controlled to optimize battery energy use for up to 50% longer run time per charge than similar non-brushless tools. Electronic controls efficiently use battery energy to match torque and rpm to the changing demands of the application for increased power and speed when needed. And since there are no carbon brushes, the BL brushless motor runs cooler and more efficiently for longer life.

For improved tool performance and extended battery life, the XPH07M features Star Protection Computer Controls. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18V LXT and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside.
For added durability, the XPH07M features Makita Extreme Protection Technology (XPT). XPT is a protective seal inside the tool engineered for improved water resistance by channeling water and dust from the tool’s key internal components. The XPT-equipped XPH07M is engineered for improved operation in harsh jobsite conditions. Additional features include a ½” keyless chuck for quick and easy bit changes, a built-in L.E.D. light that helps illuminate the work surface, and a rubberized grip for improved comfort.
The XPH07M is engineered to handle the most demanding drilling and driving applications in wood, masonry and steel. It is available in a kit and as a tool-only, and also as a driver-drill (Kit model XFD07M, tool-only model XFD07Z). Makita has also released two 18V LXT 2-Piece Combo Kits that include the new XPH07M: model XT252M (includes an 18V LXT Brushless 3-Speed Impact Driver, two 18V 4.0Ah batteries and charger), and model XT257M (with an 18V LXT Brushless Impact Driver, two 18V 4.0Ah batteries and charger).
