Hem steel door window flange openings with minimal arm fatigue with Steck Manufacturing’s Skin Zipper2 (P/N 21894).
With this new air hammer-driven door-skinning tool, technicians can now skin the window opening. Its self-lubricating reinforced nylon head will crimp regular or adhesive bonded skins. The Skin Zipper2 hems or crimps the door skin to the door shell at the window opening in an easy two-step process.
Step 1 allows the technician to form the edge of the door skin to an initial 45° angle by holding the tool at a right angle to the door. No hammer and dolly work required here.
Step 2 allows the technician to complete the final form by using the tool at a 45° angle. Two side slots are included for left and right application. When completed, minimal finishing may be required on the corners and body lines.
The reduced height of the guide allows Skin Zipper2 to accommodate the step that is commonly in window opening areas that are not easily accessible with other tools. The Skin Zipper2 reduces technician arm fatigue from the hammer and dolly method as well as door refinishing time.
