Car Care Council Women’s Board Raises Record Amount For 2013 Scholarship Program

The Car Care Council Women’s Board (WB) raised more than $5,000 in its first-ever silent auction during the 2013 Women’s Board winter meeting, held Feb. 6-7 at the Caribe Royale in Orlando, Fla. Items for the auction were donated by WB associate companies and aftermarket supporters, and all proceeds will go to the WB scholarship fund, allowing the WB to award a record number of scholarships in 2013.

AASP-MN Annual Meeting And Convention Announced

The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Minnesota (AASP-MN) will hold its annual meeting and convention under the theme “Fuel Your Fire,” on April 11-12 at the Crowne Plaza Minneapolis West, Plymouth. Driving On Bald Tires Increases In U.S.

According to a survey by the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA), more than one in eight U.S. vehicles has bald tires – which can cause an increase in vehicle stopping distances and a higher susceptibility to hydroplaning.

Right To Repair Ballot Measure Passes In Massachusetts

The Boston Globe has reported that Massachusetts voters “resoundingly” passed the Right to Repair ballot question on Tuesday. According to the Globe report, the ballot measure requires automakers to make diagnostic and repair information available to independent shops and dealers through a universal system by 2015. The compromise legislation, which was signed by the governor in August, gives automakers until 2018 to comply with new regulations.
