Free PR and Check-Up Forms for National Car Care Month Events
Freebies abound for service providers offering in-house vehicle check ups during National Car Care Month in April. First, the official check-up forms are free from the Car Care Council. Simply estimate the number needed and call 1-240-333-1088 or order online at www.carcare.org.

Second, there’s lots of free publicity from the Car Care Council for your event. Simply call in or e-mail your event info and the Council will post it on the National Car Care Month Official State-By-State Event Roster. This is valuable PR considering that this site gets more than 100,000 hits per month and that number skyrockets during National Car Care Month. Third, when the Council receives the information about your event, they will send out a press release to the media in your area, including newspapers and television and radio stations.

As they say, what goes around comes around. Consumer awareness resulting from news media coverage is what National Car Care Month is all about. For more information, click on www.carcare.org. Robert Bosch Corporation celebrated a major milestone in February — the production of its 1 billionth fuel injector for gasoline engines. Bosch produces more than 80 million fuel injectors every year for vehicles all over the world. In fact, Bosch supplied the industry’s first fuel injection system in 1967.

Federal-Mogul to Give Away Classic Chevrolet El Camino SS
Southfield, MI – The Federal-Mogul Technical Education Center (TEC) will award a 1966 Chevrolet El Camino SS with a “numbers-matching” engine and rare package of factory options to an engine rebuilder, professional technician or parts counterperson through the 2005 Federal-Mogul Training Excellence Sweepstakes.

Any qualified aftermarket professional may enter the sweepstakes by enrolling in a 2005 TEC training workshop or field clinic, or by contacting TEC for course information. Training Dates Added to ICOR’s Website
Indianapolis, IN – ICOR International, Inc., Indianapolis-based manufacturer and distributor of air conditioning and refrigeration products, has added a training calendar to its website, www.icorinternational.com.

The calendar shows all of the dates and locations where ICOR’s high-impact training presentation, “The Move to HFCs” will be presented. This training presentation focuses on the selection and use of non-ozone depleting refrigerants. This is a two-hour NATE (North American Technical Excellence)-certified training program.

Each attendee will receive a certificate of completion. Technicians can check the website to see it there is a training session scheduled in their area.

Motor vehicle safety continues to be a major focus for state legislatures and regulatory agencies across the country, so we commend each of the governors for making these important proclamations.”
Spring is the perfect time for motorists to make sure their vehicles are running reliably after a rough winter and before the summer driving season begins. Many independent repair shops and community organizations throughout the country will conduct car care events during April. These events have revealed that three out of four vehicles inspected are in need of some type of maintenance or repair.
The non-profit Car Care Council offers many free tools on its website to help consumers drive smart, save money and be more environmentally friendly, including the popular 60-page Car Care Guide and a custom service schedule and email reminder service.
“By following a service schedule and performing preventative vehicle maintenance, motorists can ensure that their vehicles are safe and dependable. Plus, auto care can help save money in many ways, including reducing fuel consumption and extending vehicle life,” continued White. “We encourage all car owners across the country to get their vehicles inspected this April.”
